"Back to Your Basics"

i
We would like to cordially invite you to participate in the 1st Annual Thank Tank 2007.
September 1st and 2nd/ 8 am – 8pm
Thank Tank consists of mostly Los Angeles artists and cultural creatives in a hands-on concentrated 48 hour session. Thank Tank, a no budget conference/talent show, will convene during the 1st weekend of September. This program is brought to you by Michael G. Bauer, Eighteen-Thirty, and active participants.
We hope Thank Tank will shed light on how we operate as individuals and, through the use of the imagination, we want to extend our notions of possibilities and come up with creative solutions to localized problems. The subjects being explored are as follows: shelter, education, transportation, food, and their relationships to art.
Thank Tank is organized in terms of subject matter. Approximately four to six hours of allotted
time will be dedicated to each subject. Each session will begin with an informal series of talks/ workshops by individuals on the given subject, followed by prompted questions to ignite a discussion.
A hands-on project on the subject will typically round off the session.
Goals:
1. Attract and interact with a creative group who possess a diverse and interesting knowledge base and skill set.
2. Share ideas
3. Come up with local, community based decisions that directly affect our routines in a positive and healthy manner.
4. Implement ideas throughout duration of Thank Tank with the use of inspiration, unrestricted
imagination, and the exploration of new possibilities.
Please bring yourself and interested parties. Ryan Agee will grace us with his vegetarian cooking magic throughout the weekend and we ask for your food contributions. Bring whatever you like to eat and want to share with others. This can take the form of fruit, vegetables, grains, prepared foods, soup, bread, sweets, etc…
