Lawrence Rengert's films-- more like memories-- depict a single and brief experience in time.
Shot with an 8mm camera, they appear timeless and transcend the storytelling basics of when/where/who.
Accompanying the visual with live performance, Lawrence's work strips away one's sense of time and
places the viewer within pure experience. Confronted with this evocatively bittersweet pair, the viewer is
left longing for a moment that is ultimately left unexplained.
This is about evoking emotion without a need to shock or exaggerate. Through his performance, Lawrence
awakens the viewer's desire to become not only a component of the completed product, rather an integrated
part of the creation.
